Gayle David Woods, 64, Springfield, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2015 with his family at his side. He was born February 20, 1951 in Camden, Missouri, the son of David S. and Dolly Virginia Woods. Gayle loved his farm and his family. He was an original "Old Hippie", who believed in living life simply and naturally. He was a avid gardener. His favorite thing to do was to "piddle" on the farm. Gayle came from a huge family from both his mother's and father's side. He was especially proud of his Danish heritage. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Gayle is survived by his loving wife, Patricia "Pat" Woods; a daughter, Angela Woods and her partner, Greg Medcalf; brother, Joe Woods; sister, Kristy Kirk; and two grandchildren, Ethan Mace and Benjamin Medcalf. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until service time.
