Gayle Frances Brown went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Gayle was born July 3, 1947 to the late Ivory and Mary Etta Certain. She was the twelfth child born to this union. Gayle was preceded in death by her mother, father, six brothers, four sisters, three nephews and husband, Thomas (Tommy) E. Brown. Gayle accepted Christ in her life at an early age, later moving to Springfield, MO. She was a member of Greater Metropolitan Baptist Church. Gayle was employed with Kraft Foods, Inc. from April 12, 1973 to October 1, 2003. She was a dedicated employee, who took pride in her work. Gayle was a great and loving mother and friend to others. She made all who came in to contact with her feel welcome in her home; it was their home away from home. She loved to cook, make jokes and fill the room with laughter. She leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted daughter, Mary Ann (Daryl) of Springfield, MO; three grandchildren, Marlon Certain, Deven and Jolisa Mitchell; one great grandson, Marlon Certain Jr. She also leaves behind, one brother, Herman Certain (Edith) of Springfield, MO; Lora Mitchell of St. Louis, MO and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 16, 2011 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with burial to follow in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
