With heavy hearts and great love, we share that the world has become a little less bright and a little less fun. We say goodbye to a memorable man who touched the lives of many.

Gary Lynn Southern, of Springfield, Missouri, was born May 23, 1948. He died May 19, 2023, with the family he loved around him.

Gary was a devoted husband of over 50 years to his wife, Margaret Southern, a loving father to his three sons, Craig Southern, Blake Southern, Scott Southern, daughters-in-law Lia Uribe and Lauren Southern, and his nephew Brent Wall and son Brent Jr. He was a cherished presence in the lives of his adored 10 grandchildren, Madison, Amelia, Blake Jr., Talvin, James, Katherine, Nora, William, Elena, and Michael, as well as many friends. His warm spirit and infectious smile brought joy to all those around him.

Gary is preceded in death by his grandparents, his father and mother, a sister, two brothers, and his in-laws, Walter, Helen, and Michael Williams.

As we remember his vibrant personality and the love he shared, we will find solace in our warm memories, and in the legacy he leaves behind.
