Gary Stephen Porter, 60 of Springfield passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Cox South Hospital. He was born on July 28, 1953 in St. Joseph, MO to Dale and Charlotte Hicks Porter. Gary graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph. He married Sharon Lescard in 2002. Gary worked in advertising for the Ozark Senior Living Newspaper for several years. Gary is preceded in death by his parents. Gary is survived by his wife Sharon of Springfield; three daughters, Jody Hackley (Phillip), Carrie Turrentine (Rob) and Elizabeth Porter Murphy all of Nixa; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, January 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
