Gary John Gorman, 71, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 in Cox Health Center. He was born on April 24, 1942 in Long Branch, New Jersey to Daniel Joseph, Sr. and Lillian Thater Gorman. Gary graduated from Neptune High School in 1960. He then joined the Navy where he served as a submarine sailor from 1960 - 1964. He married Mary Agnes Foley on February 21, 1965. Gary worked for many years with Jersey Central Power and Light before moving to Springfield, MO in 1975. He was very proud of himself for graduating from SMS in 1991 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Before retiring in 1997, Gary spent 5 years with Burlington Northern, as well as, working as a lineman for IBEW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Veronica; brother, Daniel and one niece. He is survived by his wife, Mary Agnes Gorman; daughters, Shannon Tilley and Kimberley Cross; sons, Thomas, John and Matthew Gorman; grandchildren Nick, Erin, Sean, Brigid, Seamus, and Kynlee; several nieces, nephews and pet cat, Sneezy. Service times will be announced at a later date.
