Gail Wickman of Springfield, 65, passed away on Oct. 8th, 2012 after a nine year battle with Carcinoid cancer. She was born on Dec. 14th, 1946 in Duluth, MN She grew up in Duluth, where she met her husband, Russ, and they were united in Holy Matrimony in 1967. To this union they were blessed with a daughter, Kelly, and a son, Steve. She and her family relocated to Springfield in 1975, and after raising her family, she continued her work outside the home, eventually retiring from the American Lung Association in 2004. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church for 37 years. She enjoyed her hobbies of stitching, reading and knitting and valued the closeness of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Dorothy and Richard Jablonski. She is survived by her husband, Russ; children, Kelly Turk of Springfield and Steve (Angie) Wickman; 5 grandchildren, Sydney, Riley, Mason, Paige and Jacob all of Springfield; sisters, Donna (Dave) DeToffol of Duluth, MN and Jo Klindt of Tampa, FL and a brother, Alan (Sandy) Jablonski of Esko, MN Visitation will be Thurs. evening Oct. 11, 2012 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Springfield starting at 6:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Springfield with Father Fergus Monaghan Celebrant. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
