Friederica Bemberg Timmerman (1919-2015) crossed the bridge into God's awaiting arms to join her parents and five siblings on Thursday, August 27 at her home in Pleasant Hope surrounded by her children and loved ones. "Fritzi" devoted her life to caring for others and serving her community. Her boundless and tireless energy was focused on her family and children with the love of her life J. Louis "Bud" Timmerman. She spent her professional Registered Nursing career as a staff nurse for the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children and as a public school nurse in St. Louis; as a Team Leader in O.L.P.H. at St. John's Hospital, a staff member of the Red Cross Blood Mobile, and visiting Home Healthcare nurses in Springfield. Dedicated to her profession, she received her B.S.N. Degree at the age of 65. The daughter of an Evangelical and Reformed Minister, her abiding faith and her church were central to her life. She dedicated much time and service to First and Calvary. She and second husband Walter Schad devoted many years to Habitat for Humanity and delivering Meals on Wheels. Friederica is survived by her son David (Marilyn) and daughter Carolyn (Fletcher); grandsons David (Kim), Deron (Tina) and Drew (Abby); great-grandchildren Tyler, Holli and Dylan; and many nieces and nephews. Those who knew her felt the warmth and love she gave to all. Her beautiful smile and gentle hand and loving heart will be deeply missed. Donations in her memory may be made to C.A.R.E. in Springfield, or Ozark Homeward Bound in Harrison, AR, or the Presbyterian Children's Home in St. Louis. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at Burgess Cemetery in Imperial, MO.
