Fred Williams was born on July 15, 1938, in Jasper, Alabama, to Louis and Lillian Williams, and passed from this life to his Heavenly Home on December 5, 2013. He passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by a roomful of loved ones. Fred loved his family and friends. He had just the perfect combination of love, sweetness, humor, and sassiness, and entertained us all! He was called husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa, and loved every single name! He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis J. Williams, and his mother, Lillian E. (Farley) Williams. Fred is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jo Etta, of Springfield, MO, three children, Tonya McCann and husband Bob, Springfield, MO, Tony Williams and wife Vicki, Springfield, MO, and Trisha Turri and husband Patrick, of Fairbanks, Alaska. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Ashley McCann Ussery, Andrea McCann, Adam McCann, Lindsey Williams, Kaitlyn Williams, and Chase Turri, and a great-granddaughter, Isabela Ussery. Also surviving are his loving sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Don Thompson, of Brighton, MO, nephews Tom Alexander, of Springfield, IL, Jeffrey Thompson of Brighton, MO, niece Donnie Thompson Davis, of Springfield, MO, and many cousins. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, from 6-8 pm at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. No formal service will be held.
