Freddie Lee Shelton, 61, of Springfield, died December 17, 2009, at the Missouri Veterans Home. He was born April 24, 1948, to Jewell and Leroy Shelton of Dora. He served in the U.S. Army Special Forces in Vietnam in the late 1960s, and was employed for 15 years at Paul Mueller and 15 years at Precision Stainless. Freddie enjoyed hunting, camping and motorcycling. Survivors include daughter and son, Rebecca and Bryan, both of Republic; brothers Larry, Mike and Teddy, all of Springfield; two grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
