Reverend Frank R Stark, age 87, passed from this world on Sunday, June 23 , 2019 surrounded by his family. Frank was born September 18, 1931 to Frank W. Stark and Pearl H. Gray Stark. He accepted Jesus as his Savior when he was 9 years old after a revival. He served the Lord in ministries from the age of 15. He received the Life Beautiful Service award from SBU in 1981. He was honored to serve as pastor at First Baptist of Strafford for nearly 20 years. He was the chaplain for ARCA for 10 years. He was the founder of Frank Stark Raceway Ministries and the Come As You Are Truck Stop Ministry. He was a member of Harvest Hill Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, his family, fast cars, and slow tractors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank W. Stark and Pearl H. Gray Stark, his brother, Gaylord W. Stark, and son in law, Ronald L. Marsh.
Frank is survived by his bride of 67 years, Betty L. Stark; daughter Stephanie Marsh of Kissimmee, FL; her children Hannah Marler (husband Jeff, son Franklin) of Strafford, MO and Lydia Marsh (daughter Savannah) of Brighton, MO; daughter Sara Campbell (husband Richard) of Strafford, MO and their children Maggie Coppenbarger (husband Craig, children Gigi, Isaiah, Bella and Vinny) of Warrensburg, MO and Jackson Campbell (wife Brianna) of Strafford, MO; daughter Sandra Perkins (husband Keith) of Chattanooga, TN and their children Jed Perkins (wife Andrea, children Hayden, Ailee, and Hazel) of Hixson, TN, Sam Perkins, of Hixson, TN, and Addison Perkins of Fredonia, NY; sister Virginia Salchow of Springfield, MO; brother Charles A. Stark (wife Betty J.) of Republic, MO; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 28, 2019 at Second Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Marionville IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
In keeping with Frank's love of fast cars and slow tractors, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to National Fellowship of Raceway Ministries (330 W. Aviation Rd, Statesville, NC 28677), Harvest Hill Baptist Church Building Fund (101 E. Evergreen St., Strafford, MO), or Ozarks Steam Engine Association (2173 Lakeview Drive, Brookline, MO 65619).
