Francis L. Edwards of Eureka, Missouri, died on Friday November 13, 2009, at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Mary Ruth Edwards (nee: Davidson); dear son of the late William J. and Bertha A. Edwards of Crane, Missouri; devoted father of Gary (Barbara) Edwards, Larry (Jane) Edwards and Cathy (John) Brems: cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Steven, Timothy, Michael, Dan, Kimberly, Julie and Mark; loving great-grandfather of Emma, Olivia, William, Caroline and Ethan; dear brother of Nadine Stipp; brother in-law of Ruth Edwards; uncle to many nieces and nephews; and friend to many. Francis was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps, and was a public school teacher and administrator for 38 years. Visitation with the family will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009, in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, Missouri. Services will be held in the chapel immediately following. Interment will be in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
