Frances May Broadwater, 84 years old, passed away at 2:55 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8th, 2014, in her home at Magnolia Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of the United Freewill Baptist Church in West Plains, Missouri, though she had lived in Springfield for the past four years. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Gladys Harrod; her brothers, Bill & Richard Harrod; and sisters, June Lenwell & Betty Smith. She had eight children and was preceded in death by her daughters, Barbara, Frances and Lorna Dawn as well as her sons, David, Buster and Lonnie Carl. She is survived by her sister, Georgia Potts & husband, L.A. of Jasper, MO; brother, Jim Harrod & wife, Grace of Kodiak, Alaska; daughter, Colleen Morrison of Republic, MO; and son, Benjamin Broadwater & wife, Debbie of Branson, MO. She has been blessed with many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as many friends that will miss her immensely. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12th at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO from 10-11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at the Wade Chapel Cemetery, outside of Republic, MO. After the burial, we will meet at Magnolia Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 1502 West Edgewood, Springfield, MO to share memories of Frances with all the people who have loved her, cherished her and enjoyed her in her 84 years. She will be sincerely missed by all.
