Floyd Arthur Arnold, of Springfield, Missouri, died of natural causes on October 10, 2024 at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO. He entered Heaven's gates with family and loved ones by his side.
Floyd was born October 22, 1926 in Duluth, Minnesota to Clarence and Syvia Arnold, being the first of four boys. He attended Lakewood school. Upon graduation, at age 17, he joined the Navy where he served on a mine sweeper during the last two years of WWII.
As a devoted husband and father, Floyd enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and helping others on projects large and small. He was an over-the-road truck driver and worked for Zalk Joseph's until retirement. After losing his eyesight, he enjoyed many hours a day listening to Books on Tape from the Library for the Blind.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife O'Della Arnold, son Kenny Arnold, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Arnold, both parents and his three brothers.
Floyd is survived by three children - Rodger (Kari) Arnold of Rapid City, SD; Sheryl Boisjoli and David Arnold of Duluth, MN; four stepchildren - Jacalyn Wiertzema and Julie (Kenny) Spangler of Springfield, MO; Jannelle (Jacob) Kluch of Sun City West, AZ; and Jason Stainbrook of Duluth, MN. Also 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Graveside service held Wednesday, October 16, 2024 10 AM at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
The family request that any memorial contributions be made to the Lighthouse for the Blind in lieu of flowers. www.LHblind.org
