Floretta "Lou" Ingalsbe of Springfield went to meet her Savior Jesus Christ on June 15. She passed away as the result of a short illness. She was born on July 4, 1936 in Springfield. She married Donald Ingalsbe in 1955 and was a lovingly devoted wife until his death in May 2004. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enriched the lives of all her children. She offered guidance and sympathy to her family daily, and some of her grandchildren thought of her as their dearest friend. She was a thoughtful person who always put others' needs before her own. She took pride in keeping a lovely home and garden, and in always making holidays and special occasions as warm and memorable as possible. She loved cooking for her family for years, and they continued to meet at her home every Sunday for a meal together, until the week of her death. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Robert James and Marilyn and Matt Mercer; her seven grandchildren and their spouses, Drew and Amy Mercer, Natalie James, Ben and Mariah Mercer, Hannah and Scott Gregory, Seth James, Emily Mercer and Sarah Mercer; her great-grandchildren, Ethan, Austin, Derek and Ellie Lou; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Mary Eddington, three brothers and one sister, and her husband Don. Services will be held on Friday, June 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Lutheran Family and Children's Services, 2130 N. Glenstone Ave, Springfield, MO, 65803.
