Florence Jeanette Rucker died surrounded by her family on June 7, 2023 in Eureka, Missouri at the age of 85.  She was born June 9, 1937 in Braxton, Mississippi to Etson Everett and Lois Jackson.  Mrs. Rucker was raised in Springfield, Missouri.  She graduated from Drury College in 1959 and later received a Masters Degree from Washington University.  Mrs. Rucker taught grade school in Springfield, Missouri and then at Mason Ridge Elementary School in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mrs. Rucker married Ronald R. Rucker in 1959 and they lived in Springfield, Missouri before moving to St. Louis in 1968.  She is survived by her son, Ronald E. Rucker, and his wife, Lisa M. Rucker (Wildwood, MO), her son, Rodney R. Rucker and his wife, Kimberly D. Rucker (Eureka, MO), her grandson, Matthew A. Rucker (Claire) (Chicago, IL), her granddaughter, Haley M. Trainor (Michael) (Boston, MA), and her grandson, Aaron S. Rucker (New York, NY), her great-grandson, Henry J. Trainor (Boston, MA) and her great granddaughter, Alice M.J. Rucker (Chicago, IL).

Mrs. Rucker was a member of the Living Word Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 11:00 am in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with burial to follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 10:00 am at the same location.
