Florence Jane Hartman, 79, departed this life and went to her heavenly home, June 13, 2010. She was born August 24, 1930 in Pueblo, CO to William and Laura Hartman. She began her career in the healthcare field first working for Burge Hospital then Dr. Michael Clark. From there she worked at Associated Grocers, Springfield Airport, Greene County Jail as Matron and during the last two years for her brother at Hartman & Company, Inc. At the time of her death she was employed at the Cabbage Patch Greenhouse. Florence loved working with flowers and was devoted to her animals, having been a long time trainer in dog obedience. She was a member of the Ozarks Kennel Club and assisted with multiple dog shows. She was a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church. She is survived by her brother, Dean Hartman and wife Geri, Springfield; two nieces, Mary Beth Daniels and husband Philip, Laurie Hartman and three great nephews, Justin Wallace, Chase Murray and Hunter Cox. A previous private burial was at Rivermonte Cemetery and a celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society.
