Flo Davis, 93, of Springfield., Mo., died Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Mercy Villa after a short illness. The daughter of Henry C. and Calla Hammack, she was born Nov. 8, 1919, in Southwest City, Mo. Cress Davis, her husband of 55 years, died in 2003. A son, Greg Davis, died in 2012. She is survived by a daughter, Randi Edelman and her husband, Tom, a daughter-in-law, Terri Davis, all of Springfield; a son, Brent Davis and his wife, Susan, of Hilliard, Ohio; grandchildren Tandi Edelman, Nathan Edelman, Zack Davis, Matthew Davis and his wife, Danah; Megan Elley and her husband, Jason; great-grandchildren Scotlynne and Jaxton Elley; sisters Beverly Hammack of Conyers, Ga., and Frances Fugate of Claremore, Ok. Flo was a long-time member of University Heights Baptist Church. She volunteered for many organizations and especially enjoyed her work as a shopper for the homebound. She was an avid gardener and birdwatcher, and for many years, along with Cress, had been active in the local Kraft retiree's group. Her family is grateful to the staff and residents of The Gardens, Flo's home for the last nine years, for their service and friendship. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6 - 8 p.m., at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home 1947 E. Seminole, with the funeral and celebration of her life beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the same location. Burial will follow at the Southwest City (Mo.), Cemetery at 2 p.m. Dr. Daniel Chisholm will officiate. Contributions may be made to University Heights Baptist Church, 1010 S.
