Everett "Jody" Leroy Franklin Jr., 62, Springfield, departed this life on Friday, February 27, 2009, in his residence. He was born in Springfield on December 31, 1946, to Everett Leroy Franklin Sr. and Ina Ann Young. Jody was a 1965 graduate of Central High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University. He retired from UPS in April, 2006, after 23 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, to whom he was married to for 21 years; three daughters, Renata, Savannah and Samantha; three brothers; Larry A. Franklin and Dennis L. Franklin of Springfield, and Mark S. Franklin of Spring, Texas; one sister, Kimberly Berry of Springfield; aunts; uncles; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:30 Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with the Rev. Frances A. Stafford officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, in the funeral home.
