Evelyn Louise Williams Harmon passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2023. She was born on November 4, 1925. She grew up in the Macomb- Mansfield area. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 24 years Sidney Lawrence Harmon. As well as her parents Harmey and Mary Lou (Towe) Williams, her brothers Gerald and Harold Williams, nephew Matthew Williams, and her brother-in-law Harland Shorter.
She is lovingly remembered by daughters Sheila Lynn (Harmon) Riggs and her husband Darrell Riggs, Mary Anne Harmon and her boyfriend Doug Willett, grandson and wife Zachary and Kayla Riggs, sister Barbara Shorter, nieces Lisa (Shorter) Wolfe, Pamela (Williams) Ash, Stormy (Williams) Phillips, nephews Kevin Shorter and Kyle Williams, and sister-in-law Marie Williams. As well as many friends of which there are too many to mention.
She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for Fair Grove school district for 17 years. Prior to becoming a teacher, Evelyn was a bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of Eastern Star for 65 years, achieved her Bronze Life Master in Bridge. She volunteered for Crosslines of Springfield. She was committee chairperson for the Republican Party. She was also a member of the POE Sorority.
Her favorite pastimes were spent with her family and friends, traveling, attending shows or movies, and playing cards.
She enjoyed a life well lived; she continued to push herself and learn new things and have new experiences throughout life.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023 in Schweitzer Church with visitation from noon until service time, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mount Comfort Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Comfort Church for upkeep of the cemetery grounds, 2376 East Farm Road 66, Springfield, MO.
