Evelyn E. Russell was born on February 18, 1929 and went home to be with her Lord on May 11, 2010. Evelyn was the daughter of Fred and Bliss Holloway and she was born near Trenton, Mo. where she attended school. Evelyn was saved and baptized at the age of 15 and is now a member of the Seminole Baptist Temple. On September 25, 1949 she was united in marriage to Leonard Gay Russell and they were the parents of two children. In 1963 they moved to Springfield, Mo. and Evelyn worked at the Empire Bank for forty five years and at her retirement she had been in banking for sixty years. She was preceded in death by her husband, baby daughter, parents and a brother. Evelyn is survived by her son Gary and wife Joanne, two grandsons, Matthew and wife Krystal, and James and wife Kelly and three great-grandchildren, Shea, Koren and Dorion Russell and a host of friends.She loved her family and all who knew her. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. noon Friday, May 14, 2010 in the funeral home with Brother Mel Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield National Cemetery with her husband.
