Evelyn Carolyn Moist, 100, of Springfield passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 in Magnolia Square Nursing Home. She was born October 28, 1909 in Cora, Illinois to Frederic and Elizabeth Anghouse. Evelyn graduated from high school in Chester, Illinois and then attended business college in St. Louis, MO. It was in St. Louis that she met her husband, Dr. Richard E. Moist who was attending Washington University Dental School. They were married on March 28, 1937. In June of 1940 they moved to Springfield, MO where they remained throughout their lives. Dr. Moist passed away on April 28, 1997. Evelyn was a member of the Living Arts Group of SMMA, a charter member of Twin Oaks Country Club and a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, George Anghouse. She is survived by a son, Dr. Richard R. Moist and wife Cara of Springfield, MO; a daughter, Jeanne Robinson and husband Dee of Springfield, MO; a sister, Dorothy Whisler of Alton, IL; six grandchildren, Ed Moist and wife Dawn Drury-Moist of Ozark, MO, Charles Moist and wife Jennifer of Springfield, MO, great-grandchild, Justin; Jeff Robinson and wife Amy of Springfield, MO, Wendy Robinson of Denver, CO, Holly Roesner and husband Matt of Springfield, MO and Andy Robinson of Springfield, MO. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 1 p.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Reverend Greg Ellis officiating. Visitation will precede the service from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Maple Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3322-P S.
