IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn A.
Dailey
May 10, 1930 – May 26, 2023
Evelyn Ann Kralemann Dailey, 93, passed away May 26, 2023 in Springfield, MO. Evelyn is survived by her children, Kathy (David) Hutchison, Kevin Dailey, and Michael Dailey and her sister, Jackie (Rich) Hagenhoff. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Erin, Patrick, Jacob, and Derek as well as her great-grandchildren Sean, Alex, Graham, Harrison, and Wallace and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Glenn, and daughter-in-law Donna (Mike) Dailey.
Evelyn was baptized and married in the Catholic Church. She was devoutly religious and proud to be a Catholic. Her faith helped her through difficult times in her life.
Evelyn was born in St. Louis, MO on May 10, 1930 to parents John and Anna (Fiacre) Kralemann. The family lived in Jennings, MO where Evelyn graduated from Fairview High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Dailey on December 30, 1950. They lived for a time in San Diego, CA where Glenn was stationed during the Korean War. Evelyn worked in several offices performing clerical work in both St. Louis and San Diego. They moved back to St. Louis where their three children, Kathleen, Kevin, and Michael were born.
Evelyn was a stay-at-home mom and enjoyed providing a home for her family. In fact, family was everything to Evelyn. She was always available to help her family. The Dailey family moved to Springfield, MO in 1964 when Frisco moved their company headquarters. Evelyn missed her extended family very much. Many letters and phone calls were exchanged. And trips back to St. Louis (sometimes by rail) were cherished.
Evelyn's grandchildren were born in Springfield, and she was a wonderful Grandmother just as she had been a wonderful Mom to her children. She was very creative and made up lots of games for the kids to play. She loved to tell stories about her childhood and the exploits she had with her brothers, Johnny and Bill and her sisters, Lou and Jackie. She made special birthday cakes for her kids and grandkids. It became a Christmas tradition for the grandkids to go to her house to make Christmas cookies. She made celebrating holidays and birthdays special. She never forgot anyone's birthday. She knew them all by heart.
She kept in contact with nieces and nephews, always wanting the best for them. She had friends from long ago and more recent ones.
Evelyn was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and tried to never miss a game.
She is home now in heaven with God and her family members whom she missed so much. Heaven is what she deserves.
