Eva Marie Fortune, 89, Ozark, passed away Sunday morning in James River Care Center. She was born October 18, 1922 in Minden, MO, the daughter of Wheeler and Flossie Sellers. Just prior to World War II she married Hugh W. Fortune and to this union one son, Joe, was born. Eva worked as a bookkeeper at Kansas City Gas Service until she retired and moved to the Ozarks in 1984. She enjoyed time with friends and family at Pomme de Terre Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sisters. Eva is survived by her son Joe and his wife Crystal, and a beloved niece, Dorothy Burkey. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 17, 2012 in Springfield National Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. No visitation is planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southwest Missouri Humane Society.
