Ethel Z. Young, 86 of Springfield passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009 in Cox South Hospital. She was born and reared in the community of Clear Creek in Greene County, Missouri. She traveled for several years directing and producing benefit stage shows nationwide. Later she was employed for nearly three decades with movie theaters. She loved her family, her church, and friends, and was an active member of the Ozarks Genealogical Society. She was a member of Tatum Chapel Baptist Church, joining at an early age and continuing to worship God through her entire lifetime. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, H.W. and Zulah (Mitchell) Young, her only brother Mitchell H. Young, a nephew Lynn Young and a dear colleague C.R. McDonald, Jr. She is survived by her sister-in-law Norma L. Young, niece Nancy Young Kittrell, two nephews, Patrick Young and Kent Young and many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Reverend Scott Killingsworth officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.
