Esther passed away peacefully at the age of 98, on April 17, 2012, just shy of her 99th birthday at Mercy Villa, Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Morton. Esther was born April 20, 1913 in Morrisville, MO to Edgar and Jewell Hamilton. After marrying her husband Harry on July 3, 1938, they became life-long partners and resided in Springfield, MO. She is survived by her sons, Bill Morton and wife Sharon, Millbrook, AL and John Morton and wife Ardelle of Springfield; two grandsons, Kevin Morton and wife Brenda, Millbrook, AL and Chad Morton of Springfield; one granddaughter, Johnna Morton, Springfield; two great-granddaughters, Haley Morton, Millbrook, AL and Megan Morton, Springfield; and many family members and friends. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery.
