Obituary

Esther Piñón Moreno entered the presence of her Lord peacefully from her home in Springfield, Missouri, on February 9, 2024, at the age of 72.

The oldest of eight children, Esther was born on August 15, 1951, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Crescencio Monjaraz Piñón and Gavina Flores Piñón who preceded her in death along with a brother, Peter Piñón.

Educated in Mexico, Esther graduated from both Pampa High School and later, El Instiituto Biblico Magdiel (Bible School).  It was also during that time that she met and eventually married the love of her life, Pablo Garza Moreno, on June 23, 1972.

Passionate can only begin to describe what a loving and caring wife and mother

Esther was to her family.  But of all the things she did and accomplished, she always stressed the most important thing – was to serve Jesus. Even now her family can quickly call to mind one of her favorite sayings: "the most important thing is to serve Jesus Christ with all your mind, heart, soul and strength."

And as the wife of a pastor, she could well be said to have been the backbone of the ministry as she invested long hours in prayer and devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

There can be no question that after over 52 years of love and dedication to husband, family, friends and community, she now wears The Crown of Life promised to all believers who are faithful to the very end.

Esther is survived by her husband, Pablo G. Moreno, children Paul C. Moreno and wife, Lisa; Naomi M. Eatherly and husband Mike; Caleb P. Moreno and wife Tarrah, and Jacob P. Moreno all of Springfield, MO; and Isaac P. Moreno and wife Sabrina of St. Augustine, Florida.

Siblings include Elena Vasquez, Anita Martinez, Danny Piñón, Rufina Guerrero, Lucy Castillo and Cathy Morton.  Eleven grandchildren, Isabella Stockam and husband Justin, Vanessa Moreno, Hannah Eatherly, Rebekah Eatherly, Anthony Eatherly, Jaclyn Moreno, Kendall Moreno, Alaina Moreno, Natalie Moreno and Jacob LJ Moreno, one great grandchild, Violet Stockam, and two godchildren, Chris Guerrero and Annette Martinez.

She will indeed be missed by all but her many prayers for them will still ring in God's ears until she sees them all again face-to-face.

Celebration of life Service will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 10:00 am at Oak Grove Assembly of God, 1320 S Oak Grove Ave, Springfield, MO 65804
