Obituary

Errett C. Sechler, III, 71 of Augusta, GA entered into rest Thursday, November 2, 2017.

Mr. Sechler attended Southwest Missouri State University (now MSU) and majored in drama and speech therapy and was active in Tent Theatre. Using his talents he traveled with the USO performing for the military. He went on to earn his master's degree in speech and theater. Mr. Sechler served in the military as a 1st Lt in the Signal Core at Ft. Gordon, GA. Later as a civil servant he worked as a Speech Pathologist at Eisenhower Army Medical Center for 35 years. After retiring as a civil servant he spent two years working with the Columbia County School System as a speech therapist. Mr. Sechler's love of theatre led him to spend many years with the Augusta Players as both a director and an actor. Having substantial creative talents and a long career, his biggest passion were his children, grandchildren, family, friends and the many patients he helped over the years.

Family members include his children: Kit Sechler(Katy), Rett Sechler, Ash Sechler, Casey Sechler; grandchildren: Lucie and Jack Sechler; Father: Errett C. Sechler Jr.(Pat) and sister: Susan Welker(Rick). He was preceded in death by mother: Betty Sechler.

Graveside services will be Friday, November 24, 2017 at 2:30 pm in Evergreen Cemetery, Republic, Missouri, with visitation from 1-2 pm at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Sechler Family Scholarship at Missouri State University.
