Ernest L. Mannering (Ernie) passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2011. Ernest was 88 years old and was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. Ernest married Marjorie on May 9, 1953. He has five children who adored and respected their dad. His children are Kathleen, Donna, Steve, Karen, and Ernest Mark. He was so loved by his seven grandchildren - Chris, Shannon, Ryan, Lindsay, Alison, Courtney, and Ashley and his five great-grandchildren. He was also loved by his sisters - Wanda Jean, Natalie, Joyce, and Sharon, his brothers George and Dennis and his mother Della Mannering. He was an Honorable World War II Veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. A Memorial Service will be held at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. 1947 East Seminole, Springfield, MO. 65804.
