Erma Jean Price, 92, of Springfield, Missouri, died at rest in her home on July 26, 2024.

Jeanie, as she was known to many, was born October 1,1931 to Verne and Myra(McColl) Melton in Woodston, Kansas. After graduating from Woodston High School in 1949, Jeanie went on to study at Brown-Mackie College in Salina, Kansas.

Jeanie married Frank Price on October 22, 1950. They went on to have three children, Ronal, of Miami, Florida, Karen Giffin of Springfield, Missouri, and Vicki Holloway of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Over the course of their 56 years of marriage they made homes in Pampa, Texas, Stockton and Waverly, Kansas, and in Springfield, Missouri where they retired.

Over the years, Jeanie was employed in various positions in banks, for two attorneys, and as a secretary and a bookkeeper. She especially enjoyed her time as the secretary for the Rooks County Extension Office in Stockton. Jeanie enjoyed reading. crewel embroidery, canning, flower gardening and time with her 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings, and one grandson. She is survived by many family members.

Jeanie was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family requests any donations be made to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery located in Springfield.
