Eric Frank Ikemeier MS, LPC 64 years old residing in Springfield, Missouri was taken from us suddenly by a heart attack on January 15, 2014, while driving home from work on I-44. Eric was born March 19, 1949 to Robert Ikemeier and Najabe (Jane) Ikemeier in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Cape Girardeau and later continued his education at SMSU, graduating with his Masters in Guidance and Counseling in 2000. Generous, giving and caring, Eric made a mission of working with children to help better their lives, as well as adults. Eric is survived by his wife, Pamela Babcock; daughters, Laura and Elizabeth Ikemeier and Laine (Andy) Scholz; sister and brothers, Tina (Richard) Linkul, Bob (Marsha) Ikemeier, Mark Ikemeier and Kurt Ikemeier and their families; and four grandchildren. To celebrate Eric's life we will be having a visitation at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 20th from 6-8pm. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 22nd at 10:30 am at St. James Episcopal Church on Southern Hills Boulevard, with Father Charles Uhlik officiating. Please come join us in celebration.
