Emma E. Ruzicka, age 97, passed away quietly at Mercy Villa on May 28th, 2015. She was born to Jacob and Kate Francka on May 14th, 1918. . She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Alois Ruzicka and their daughter, Kathryn Ruzicka. Emma was the last of 7 children, her brothers and sisters all preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Gene and wife Kathy, Mick and wife Denise, and Bob and wife Laura. She was a loving grandmother to Chris and wife Jennifer, Kate, Pat and wife Gina, Kelley and husband Jason Witte, Andy and wife Kristin, Mark and wife Erica, Tony and fiancée Emma Bentley, Lorin Pope and her partner Laura Stanley, Zach Ruzicka, Rachael and her husband Charley Norton, Rory, and Rob Ruzicka. She was also a Great-Grandmother to Joe, Caroline, Alli, Lucy, Nolan and Kylie. Emma loved to cook and shared this talent with the children at St Agnes School, Sherwood Elementary, Heritage Cafeteria and Mrs. O'Mealys. She was quick to bake many delicious meals including kolaches, pies and cinnamon rolls followed by asking you if you had enough to eat. She enjoyed gardening and would use this passion to raise vegetables to serve with lunch and flowers to decorate her home. An avid St Louis Cardinals fan, she shared her love of baseball with her family. Emma was a devout Catholic and attended mass always sitting in her favorite pew. If desired, a memorial contribution may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or The Kitchen. A prayer service followed by visitation will be held at St Agnes Cathedral on Monday, June 1, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 2nd at St Agnes Cathedral at 10:00 a.m. with burial immediately following at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery near Bolivar Missouri.
