Emma Jeanne Helfrecht, 90, Springfield, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015. She was born October 22, 1924 in Springfield, the daughter of Edward and Elsie Steury. She worked at Southwestern Bell until 1956. Later Jeanne volunteered for Delaware Elementary and Crosslines of Springfield. Jeanne is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, George Helfrecht; one daughter and her husband, Susan and Doug Waugh; three sisters, Sharon Avery, Margaret Barnes and Mary Kathryn Reed; and two grandchildren, Zach and Wendy Waugh. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in Hazelwood Cemetery under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crosslines of Springfield, 1710 East Chestnut Expressway, Springfield, MO 65802.
