Emma Gaunt passed away on April 12, 2011 at Mercy Villa nursing home. Emma was born May 18, 1914 in Bardwell, Kentucky. Emma was united in marriage to Ralph Gaunt in February 1929. Emma was a fun loving person. She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, family games, and fishing. Throughout her many years, she traveled to many different states but called California her home. She was loved by all and will be missed dearly. Emma was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Gaunt, one son Leroy Gaunt, three daughters Betty Dowell (Gaunt), Jessie Lee Gaunt, and Becky Gaunt, one grandson Gary Fletcher, four brothers, and four sisters. Emma is survived by two sons, Kenneth Gaunt of Springfield, MO and Danny Gaunt of Pollock Pines, CA, eighteen grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren and relatives. A private family memorial was held on April 14, 2011 to celebrate Emma's life; she will be laid to rest in La Verne, CA next to her husband.
