Elwyn Maurice Walls, Sr., 86, Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in Mercy Hospital. He was born February 3, 1931 in Leavenworth, KS, the son of James Elwyn Walls and Ethel Marie Huddleston.

Mr. Walls was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the American Legion Post 639.

Mr. Walls is survived by his children, Elwyn M. Walls, Jr., Terry A. Walls, Rhonda M. Walls, William E. Walls and Sonya J. Walls; step-brother, Alfred Boykins; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Rodney L. Walls, Gina Walls and Gayla Walls; and his granddaughter, Stephanie A. Herron.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Graveside services will full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2017 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Post 639.
