Elmer "Ray" Moss, Jr. of Nixa, Missouri went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 5, 2021.
Ray was born in Springfield to his late parents, Elmer and Beulah Moss on July 17, 1945. He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, the late Patsy Moss. He was a pillar of strength, love and joy to his only daughter, Sarah Martin and son-in-law, Blake Martin. Ray proudly served as a specialist in the E-4 US Army from 1965-1967 where he received the Purple Heart award during the Vietnam War. He was a hard worker, who would do anything for the people he loved. Ray enjoyed the outdoors and loved to work on and share vegetables from his garden with his friends, neighbors and family.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, and siblings, Jimmy and Eddie Moss.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Martin and son-in-law, Blake Martin; siblings, Larry Moss, Marvin and Cathy Moss, Mary Brewer, as well as, many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Ray will be remembered, loved and missed every second of everyday until we see each other again in Heaven.
Graveside services will be Friday, September 10,2021 at 10:00 am in Galloway Cemetery under the care of Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 pm in the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516
