Elmer Ley passed away on September 12, 2013 in Missouri Veteran's Home in Mt. Vernon, where he had resided for two years. He was born in Ashley, North Dakota February 15, 1925 and had five brothers. He is survived by his wife Mary Dillard Ley, and his two children, Linda Warehime and Elmer Ley, Jr., and five step children. Also surviving him are eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Danforth Cemetery. Donations may be made to Mt. Vernon Veteran's Home or Danforth Cemetery.
