Ellen Marie Dollar, age 72 left this physical world on Saturday October 10, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield after winning the battle against Leukemia, but succumbing to a brain aneurysm. Ellen was welcomed into this world on February 5, 1943, by her loving parents Ernest and Alberta Cowles in Lawrence, KS. Ellen grew up in Osawatomie, KS and attended Kansas University. On February 11, 1961, she married her soul mate Donald Dollar. Together they would live in many places, including Monett, MO and Springfield, MO. The Dollar's were blessed with two beautiful, spirited boys, Donnie and Michael. Her love and light will continue to live on within her loved ones, husband Don Dollar of Springfield, MO; her son Michael Dollar and wife Mendy, of Monett, MO and their children Escher, Ethan, Aspen, Cooper, and Adyson. Additional family include, her mother Alberta Cowles, of Topeka, KS; her younger brother Robert Cowles, of San Francisco, CA; a number of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and a large group of friends that span the globe. Ellen was preceded in death by her father Ernest Cowles; mother-in-law Gladys Dollar; and her beloved firstborn son Donnie Dollar.
