Elizabeth "Betty" L. Montgomery of Kimberling City passed away July 30, 2012 at her home. She was 80 years old. Betty was born on August 18, 1931 in Monroe, LA to Frank and Eden Potter. She lived most of her life in Missouri, marrying in 1951 to Norman Montgomery. They raised their four daughters in Kansas City and were members of Holmeswood Baptist Church. Betty was a devoted wife & mother, talented seamstress, legendary cook and beloved grandmother. Before retiring to Kimberling City, she enjoyed a career in insurance with Liberty Mutual. Betty will forever be remembered for her warm smile and the love she bestowed to others. She is preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers. She is survived by her sister, Carolyn, husband Norman and four daughters: Sherri Grove, Michele (Jim) Holland, Dana (Robert) Fuchs and Terri (Gary) Ashley. She has 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Betty's family will receive visitors on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Noon at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri. The funeral service will follow at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice and The Alzheimer Association of Southwest Missouri.
