Elizabeth C. "Betty" Carroll Betty Carroll, age 86 of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013 in her home. She was born on November 26, 1926 in Sedalia, MO, the daughter of Nicholas and Anne Meyer. She graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia. Betty married John Carroll on January 20, 1948. She was a loving partner in marriage for 65 years and a business partner with John at Rainbow Paint Company. She devoted her life to her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carolyn Snyder; brothers, Joe Meyer and Phillip Meyer. Betty is survived by her husband, John; sons, David and Sandy Carroll of Aiken, SC, Richard and Gail Carroll of Strafford, MO, Brian and Donna Carroll of Ballwin, MO; daughters, Catherine and Jim Brazeal of Leawood, KS, Judith and Don Bonney of Lexington, NC; brother, Ted and Betty Sue Meyer of Blue Springs, MO; sister, Julianne Halkier of Copenhagen, Denmark; eight grandchildren, three great-granddaughters, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Springfield, MO, with the Reverend Fergus Monaghan , celebrant, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will be in Missouri Veteran's Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with prayer services at 7:30 p.m.. in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
