Believing that a community member of her beloved Springfield should return to the city, in kind, volunteer hours and efforts, Ellie was active in the efforts of the Springfield Symphony Auxiliary, the Springfield Art Museum, Public School PTAs, the MO Governor's Mansion Preservation/Speakers Bureau and circles/committees at both St. Paul's and Kings Way Methodist churches.

She is survived by her husband and soulmate of 72 yrs., Dr. Bill Stocker,

children Deedee Schlichting (Harley), of Columbia, MO,  Roger Stocker (Laura) of Seattle, WA, and Don Stocker (Margaret) of Naples, FL.  Ellie was "Nana" to four grandchildren (Shannon Napier Long, Maegan Nelson, Cabin Stocker and Aaron Collision.  She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Skyelar, Emily, Owen, Saunjay, Maevry, and Amishi.

Although she was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche and "Doc" (Raymond) Davis, she held close relationships with her brother Jack Davis (Wilma) of Monnett and sister Mary Gorman of Springfield.
