Elaine Hain, age 84, of Springfield, MO died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at home after a long illness.

Elaine was born in Pierce, NE to Herman and Esther Plahn.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years George, daughter Anne and son-in-law David Buckley, granddaughters Sarah and Kate Buckley; son Scott Hain, grandson Joe McCarty; a sister Delores Thomsen of Arizona; a brother and sister-in-law Harold and Barbara Plahn of Virginia; nieces and nephews.

Elaine worked for nearly 30 years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, retiring as assistant to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Services will be held at Holy Trinity Church, Springfield.  Rosary and visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov 9.  Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov 10.

Memorial contributions are suggested to LifeHouse Crisis Maternity Home of Springfield.
