Edward Joseph Grassa, age 68, of Springfield, MO passed away at 9:10 AM on May 21, 2018 in Mercy Hospital.

He was a loving husband of 43 years to Patricia (Martin) Grassa; loving father of Michael Grassa and Scott (fiancé Victoria Jones) Grassa; son of the late Henry and Stella Grassa; brother of Henry (Donna) Grassa; son-in-law of the late Richard and Peggy Martin; brother-in-law of Sandra (the late Charles) Simon, Mary (Mike) Jones, Richard (Maria) Martin, Claire (the late Gerald) Sharkey, and Christine (Eric) Meduho.  He is also survived by cherished nieces and nephews, and his fur baby, Kirby.

Edward graduated from Kutztown University.  Edward retired after 29 years of service with Kraft Foods as Regional Private Fleet Manager.  He relocated the family from Pennsylvania to Minnesota to Texas and finally settling and retiring in Springfield, MO.  He was a long-standing member of the Elks Lodge.

Family and friends will be received Monday, May 28, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole.  A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM in the funeral home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2818 E. Bennett St.  Burial with full military honors will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his memory to the Foundation for Springfield Public School's Central High School B.A.S.E. Program, 1131 Boonville, Springfield, MO 65802.
