Edward Vincent Ellman, 87 yrs, of Springfield, MO passed away at 6:10 P.M Friday, 9/11/2020 in his home. Born in Chicago, IL 2/7/1933.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, and later, Immaculate Conception Parish in Springfield, MO, Knights of Columbus, The Happening, and Disabled Veterans. He was an ordained Catholic Deacon and would have celebrated his 36th anniversary to Diaconate on September 15th. Deacon Ed was a hospital Chaplain in Chicago, IL, Joplin, MO, and Pittsburgh, KS. Ed was a US Army veteran attaining the rank of Corporal serving from June 19, 1953 to May 18, 1955 during the Korean War. His hobbies were woodworking, music, gardening, and cooking.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. and Lucille M. Ellman, his sister, Lucille M. David, and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Survived by his wife Nancy J. Ellman of 67 years, their children: Mark and (Nadine) Ellman, Joanne and (Ralph, Jr.) Duda, Caryl and (James) Tracy, Barbara and (Mark) Pasquale, Marty and (Lisa) Ellman and Tracy and (Dianne) Ellman, and their grandchildren: Chris and (Carrie) Ellman, Kierin (Joe) Manzari, Kyle and (Lacy) Ellman, Cara Ellman, Holly-Marie and Matt Bolger, Gabrielle and (Eric) Martin, Ralph III and (Sarah) Duda, Michael and (Lizzy) Duda, Marty and (Paige) Duda, Jennifer and (John) Winkler, James Tracy, Julie Tracy, Sarah Pasquale, Daniel Pasquale, Leah and (Evan) Stortz, Mark Ellman, Michael Ellman, Jonah Ellman, Caleb Ellman, and their 25 great-grandchildren and Ed's furry side kick Schnauzer, Clyde IV.
Visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish in the church on Monday, September 14 2020, from 7 pm - 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., also at Immaculate Conception with Reverend Thomas Kiefer officiating. Burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Immaculate Conception in the Community Room.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Disabled Veterans.
