IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eduardo Ramon
Ulloa Mora, M.D.
September 2, 1943 – April 14, 2021
Eduardo Ramon Ulloa Mora, M.D. of Springfield, MO born on September 2, 1943 left this earth on April 14, 2021. He left behind his wife of forty-four years, Dalva Lora de Ulloa, four children, Dalva M. Ulloa of New York City, Carol M. Ulloa, M.D. of Kansas City, twins Eduardo Andres Ulloa of Atlanta and Eduardo Luis Ulloa of Washington D.C., and three grandchildren, Enzo Akakpo-Ulloa, Nina Gervacio-Ulloa, and Kenji Akakpo-Ulloa.
Eduardo was born to parents Juan Ulloa and Angelica Mora in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He was the youngest of four siblings, Ana Luz Ulloa, Percio Ulloa, and Juan Heriberto Ulloa.
Eduardo received his Medical Degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo in 1971. Then, after immigrating to San Juan, Puerto Rico, U.S.A., he completed Neurology residency (1977) and Psychiatry residency (1979) at The University of Puerto Rico. He completed an additional year of Neurology training at The New York Medical College at Metropolitan Hospital Center in 1981, where he also served as Chief Neurology Resident.
In 1991, with the goal of providing his children with greater opportunities, Eduardo moved his family to Springfield, MO. There, he began his twenty-year career as a Psychiatrist with the Federal Bureau of Prisons at Springfield's Federal Medical Center for Federal Prisoners.
Eduardo spent the latter years of his life visiting his grandchildren, spending time with Winston Ulloa (the family dog), watching baseball, and attending mass at Immaculate Conception Church as he was a devout Catholic and served as an altar boy in his native country.
We will forever be grateful for everything Eduardo provided us: safety, strength, support, love, consistency, guidance, culture, and the understanding of the great importance of family and education. We will always keep his memory alive.
Eduardo was the undeniable leader of the Ulloa family. Observant and quiet, he was unassumingly intelligent. He was our mother's rock and gave us, his children, the gift of education. He was an exemplary son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, friend, and physician. We will love and miss him dearly.
