Edna Jean McCandless, 75, Springfield, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010. Jean lived most of her life in the Springfield area. She worked at Hickory Hills Country Club for several years before starting her own daycare, making a difference in many lives. She enjoyed her family, trips to the cabin, gardening, and walks at the lake. She had a very strong love for everyone she knew and was an inspiration to all of us. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon Claude McCandless; four sisters, Norma Faye Marshall, Novalla Stewart, Wanda Lee Stewart and Peggy Sue Kinder and two brothers, Lewis and Dean Stewart. She is survived by a son, Tim McCandless and wife Jan, Springfield; two daughters, Terri Bolin and husband Paul, Strafford and Tracy Davault, Springfield; eight grandchildren, Andy, Chastity, Nicole, Cody, Christa, Greg, Katelyn and Shelby, all of Springfield; a sister, Sharon Messenger, Springfield; two brothers, Jimmy Stewart, Ohio and Jerry Stewart, Texas; eleven great-grandchildren; a long time companion, Phillip McCall and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, February 25, 2010 in Springfield National Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Wednesday in the funeral home. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in Jean's name to the American Heart Association.
