Obituary

Edna Mae Arbeitman, Mother, Nana and friend to many, age 84, passed away on January 27, 2023 in Springfield, Missouri.

In her early years, Edna's love for travel began when she became a flight attendant during the golden age of flying. This adventurous spirit would spark decades of fun memories with her loving family and friends. She loved cruising, casinos, musicals and was always down for a trip to Disney.  Even at the age of 80, her youthful spirit found her dancing through the streets of the Magic Kingdom with her grandchildren by her side.

When in town, Edna attended bridge club games and weekly supper club dinners with friends.  In her free time, you could often find Edna eating ice cream for dinner, enjoying popcorn at the movies and sipping her morning coffee snuggled up in her slippers with her beloved dog Bella.

Edna was a proud small business owner of the FM Store, where you could find her cutting fabric and sewing relationships.  She also served the Springfield Public Schools as a secretary and was awarded "Volunteer of the Year" for decades of her work.

Edna's witty humor, adventurous spirit and fun-loving soul brought to life the hearts of her family. She is survived by her son Andy Arbeitman, her son and daughter-in-law Todd and Lori Arbeitman, her son-in-law Mark Kinder, as well as nieces Shannon Shapiro and Robin Huff.  One of the most important roles of Edna's life came from those who called her "Nana." She is survived by her grandchildren, Shana Kinder-Glenn and Chris Glenn, Jarid Kinder and Patrick Hudson, Sarah Kinder-Mings and Michael Mings, Gabrielle Venturella and Nathan Venturella, Annalee Arbeitman, Jackson Arbeitman, Elijah Arbeitman, Benjamin Arbeitman and Halle Arbeitman, as well as eight beautiful great-grandchildren Liam Glenn, Rhys Glenn, Ezra Glenn, Miriam Mings, Arye Glenn, Riley Venturella, Judah Mings and Braelynn Venturella.

Edna is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bill Arbeitman, father Leo Farbstein, mother Leona Farbstein, sister Marlene Hyatt, aunt Mary Becker, aunt Sarah Bewig and daughter Tracy Kinder.

In her final days, Edna was cared for at The Arbors at Lakewood Senior Living. Edna's family cannot put into words the level of gratitude they have for this facility as well as Seasons Hospice for the level of care and love that Edna received from her caretakers.
