Earnest Wright, Jr., 79 of Springfield passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 in Springfield Rehab Center.

He was born September 22, 1939 in Hughes, Arkansas to Earnest, Sr. and Eula Mae Thomas.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator around the Springfield area and loved working with his hands.  He was a hard worker and provided for his family.  He never met a stranger and once made a friend you were always welcomed in his house and heart.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Lucy Mae Woods; brothers, Charlie Jones, Charlie Claybourn, William Wright, Roy Thomas; and his son, Bernard Hightower.

Earnest leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years, Johnnie Lee Wright; his sons, Andrew Wright, Terry Wright, Clarence Wright and James Wright; his daughters, Kathy Sherad of Jonesboro, AR, Anita-Yvonne Wright, and Theresa Wright both of Springfield, and Taulishia Davis of Tucson, AZ; his brothers, Roosevelt Thomas, Marvin Wright of Kansas City, and Gene Wright and his sister, Ruthie Mae Bullock of New York; his grandchildren, Andrea, Dantley, Lajuan, Andrew, Katrina, David, Tony, Jacina, Victoria, Tiyrus, Tiyquashia, Mylek, Christopher, Nayla, Elijah, and great-granddaughter, Julianna "GiGi".

Celebration of Life services will be Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 1:00 pm in Agape Life Fellowship.
