Obituary

Lee Croney, 53, of Battlefield, MO passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. He was born on June 26, 1966 to Estel Croney and Vicky (Tindall) Croney-Wells. Lee was born in St. Louis, MO where he attended school prior to enlisting in the Army in 1983.  Following his three year service to his country, Lee attended and graduated from College of the Ozarks at Point Lookout, MO with a degree in Mass Communications.  He was a faithful member of Southgate Baptist Church.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Estel and Vicky Croney-Wells.

Lee is survived by his wife of 31 years, Diane, Battlefield, MO; one brother, Ronald (Christine) Tindall, Park Hills, MO; one sister Glenna (David) Leonard, Bonne Terre, MO; one aunt, Mary Lou Sancoucie, Camdenton, MO; one uncle, Tony Tindall, Bismarck, MO; as well as many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Lee was a talented musician, and enjoyed playing with his Bluegrass band of friends, as well as singing in many quartets, and writing music for other's enjoyment.  He also had a passion for woodworking projects and a love of animals.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood, Springfield, MO 65804, or to C.A.R.E. -Castaway Animal Rescue Effort, 1328 W. Sunshine, Springfield, MO 65807.

A Celebration of Lee's Life has been set for Friday, July 10, 2020, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery with full military honors, followed by a church service at 10:00 a.m. South Gate Baptist Church, Springfield, MO.
