In Loving Memory. . . Dwight Rhodes, 90, went to sleep in Jesus on Thursday, April 11 at his home in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruth (Noble) Rhodes, and is survived by his daughters, Karen Rhodes of Ozark and Lynette Rhodes of Springfield, his brother Dale Rhodes of Miami, Florida, his sister Beverly (Rhodes) MacDonald of San Diego, California, and many extended family members. His infectious love for Jesus and music deeply touched the lives of his family, friends and former students. We take comfort knowing that when he opens his eyes again he will see the loving face of his Creator, when Jesus triumphantly returns to this earth to take His people Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16 from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home at 1947 E. Seminole in Springfield. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at 10:30 a.m. in the Springfield Seventh-day Adventist Church at 702 S. Belview with interment to follow at 1 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at 5201 S. Southwood Road in Springfield with full military honors. All are welcome.
