Dwayne Mack (Papa) Rhoden unexpectedly passed away in Lee's Summit, Mo. on January 20, 2013 at the age of 66 surrounded by his family. Dwayne is predeceased by his father, Bart Rhoden, and several uncles. Dwayne is survived by his loving wife Pamela of 8 years. They were married in Springfield, Mo. on March 5th 2005. Dwayne is lovingly remembered by his mother, Esther Rhoden: son, Darren; daughter, Deanna; daughter in law, Emily; grandson, Brady; granddaughter, Delaney; sisters, Lawanna Arthur and Janean Floyd; step daughter Theresa Haley; step son in law, Phillip Haley, and many extended family and friends. Dwayne was born in Cedar Rapids, IA., on November 1st 1946. He graduated from Liberal High School, in Liberal, Mo. in 1964 and went on to earn a Master of Education from Drury University in 1975. He spent 33 years teaching and coaching with the majority of his career at Willard High School, in Willard Mo. Dwayne enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching baseball (but only when the Cardinals were winning), fly-fishing, and coaching. The service of remembrance will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:00am in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the funeral home.
